The U.S. Department of Labor recently made news with its claim of a 5.6% unemployment rate, but conservative blog Bankrupting America and others have questioned the accuracy of that figure.
According to BankruptingAmerica.org the official unemployment rate does not factor people who have given up looking for work into the equation. It also counts people with less than part-time jobs, including people who mow lawns and sell knick-knacks online, as employed.
