Federal regulations cost Americans a total of $1.88 trillion in 2014, which means that each U.S. household is on the hook for $14,976. This figure would make 2014’s U.S. federal regulations the world’s 10th largest economy – slightly smaller than Russia’s and larger than that of India. This also means that 29% of the average U.S. family’s income paid for 81 new regulations imposed by President Obama last year alone.
