PCGS Opens Office In Shanghai

The Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) has opened a new office in Shanghai, China, with the intent of bringing “the world’s leading service to the coin collector community in mainland China,” said PCGS president Don Willis.
The new company is named Collectors Universe (Shanghai), Ltd., and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Collectors Universe (Hong Kong), Ltd. This new branch of PCGS will grade and authenticate Chinese coins of the ancient variety (late 1700s through the mid-20th century) as well as modern-day (post-1970) pieces.
PCGS has formed an alliance with Shanghai Quanping Collectables Co. Ltd., and that company will handle all coin submissions, authentications and grading for PCGS in mainland China, according to PCGS vice president of international business development, Muriel Eymery.
PCGS has been widely recognized since the 1980s as the industry leader in rare coin grading and authentication, and the organization already has office in Paris and Hong Kong, in addition to its U.S. headquarters. In fact, many certified gold exchanges only buy, sell and trade PCGS coins even though there are at least three other agencies that are qualified to perform the same tasks. PCGS has gained a reputation for fast, secure and fair grading of coins, and the recent surge of gold investors into the rare coin market has created a ferocious market for PCGS coins during much of the last decade.
If you are interested in buying or selling PCGS gold coins or if you have PCGS-related questions, please call the Certified Gold Exchange directly at (800) 300-0715 and one of our friendly gold coin experts will be happy to answer your questions as well as provide you with free mail-out reports and live certified gold coin quotes.
